Join the Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives for its third annual All Hallows’ Eve event on Friday, Oct. 31 from 3 to 8 p.m.
On Halloween night, the museum will be transformed into a spooky space full of gruesome games, creepy crafts, and haunted Halloween theatre for our most magical event of the year.
Throughout the evening, the Driftwood Players’ Story Theatre will present, “Cryme of the Ancient Mariner”, a spooky theatrical tour that explores the darkest corners of the museum’s exhibits. A marriage is taking place on the good ship Lady Cynthia, but the ghostly Ancient Mariner appears with his spectral cat to curse the ship and the wedding party. Will the curse be lifted or is the ship doomed? Join us on Halloween evening to find out. Fifteen-minute performances run from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
On the main floor, Deer Crossing the Art Farm’s Sandy Buck will present the Haunted Dolls Shadow Show, inspired by the museum’s creepy doll collection. Watch as the haunted dolls come to life to haunt the museum at 6:30.
There will also be activity stations on the main floor suited for younger trick-or-treaters including build your own monster, decorate a sugar skull and create a creepy spider. This family-friendly event has something for everyone! Admission is by donation.
Leading up to the excitement, Buck will be hosting a shadow puppet making workshop at the Arts Building this Saturday, Oct. 25 from 2 to 4 p.m. Cost is $5 per child, $15 family rate. Come down and create a shadow puppet that can be a part of the Haunted Dolls Shadow Show on Halloween night.
