The Sunshine Coast Community Foundation has established a new endowment in honour of the late Sue Milne. Sue and her husband John retired to the Sunshine Coast in 1999, where she became very active in the local choral scene. Sue also served as a volunteer on several community boards, including the Board of the Foundation. Donations to the endowment were raised by the Sunshine Coast Music Society, with contributions from John Milne, other donors, and income from the Sue Milne Memorial Fund Concert and its sponsors. These funds will be forever preserved while the Foundation will make an annual grant from the earnings.
“We are honoured to receive these contributions and establish this fund,” said Vicki Dobbyn, Foundation executive director. “Each spring we will invite applications for a grant to support the presentation of choral music on the Coast.”
Sue will be remembered for her smile and contagious laughter, as well as for her outgoing personality and endless generosity. She passed away in September 2017.
