Everyone who dreams of a naturally handsome garden is invited to hear Bill Terry's talk, Letting Nature Take Her Course, on Friday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m. in the Sparling Pavilion of the Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden, 5941 Mason Rd. in West Sechelt.
At this event, there will also be a sale of gently-used garden books at rock-garden prices, including plenty of free magazines. Pour yourself a hot chocolate, try a home-made sweet, and settle in for a memorable evening. Admission is by donation at the door, $5 to $10 suggested.
In this gorgeously illustrated talk, Terry considers ways of working collaboratively with nature. Though the talk is light-hearted in tone, Terry raises serious possibilities of creating a beautiful garden while appeasing nature to make work much easier for the aging gardener.
Terry is a retired CBC executive, a lifelong gardener and author of two books, including the recently released Beyond Beauty: Hunting the Wild Blue Poppy.
His Sechelt garden has attracted many visitors to see his extensive live collection of Asiatic poppies, including the famous blue poppy of the Himalayas. Discover how he brings home the rapture of Nature's perfect garden, and makes gardening simpler and more satisfying.
