The Philanthropic Educational Organi-zation (PEO) promotes educational opportunities for women to achieve their highest educational aspirations.
It makes a difference in women’s lives with five programs that provide higher education assistance through loans, grants and scholarships. PEO owns Cottey College in Des Moines, Iowa, a women’s college with two and four year programs.
PEO was started by seven young women in 1869 in Des Moines, Iowa. PEO came to British Columbia in 1911. The newest chapter of 17 women was organized on Nov. 8 in Sechelt.
