Yes, folks August is upon us with more good times and live music to enjoy in the Harbour.
Next Friday, Aug. 5, the School of Music Coffee House will feature Soleil Duo, Nancy Pincombe and Kenneth Norman Johnson and David Jones. Doors open at 7 p.m. Music at 7:30 p.m. $10 suggested minimum donation at the door. Masks required. Bring your own coffee as the kitchen is closed.
The Rotary Club of Pender Harbour never stops doing good in our community. Now they get to have fun and are excited to get back to hosting events again. Showtime! Calling all car enthusiasts. The Rotary Cub of Pender Harbour presents the 17th Annual Peoples Choice Show & Shine, Sunday Aug. 7 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Madeira Park.
Entrants display their cars on the grassy apple orchard adjacent to the legion. All makes of cars, trucks and motorcycles are welcome. Registration is 9 to 11 a.m. Showtime 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Entry fee $25. All proceeds go to Rotary community projects in the harbour.
This is a great family event. Come vote for your favourite car and cycle. Multiple awards will be presented. Inside the legion, try your luck at the meat draw, 50/50 draw and enjoy the food and fun.
The Pender Harbour Blues Society proudly presents A Summer Night Dance Party with Cannery Row featuring Gary Comeau, Tim Hearsey and Chris Nordquist Friday, Aug. 19 at The Pender Harbour Community Hall. Doors open at 8 p.m. Music at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $30. Purchase online at www.phblues.ca.
