The Community Club Christmas Market extravaganza is also tomorrow Saturday, Dec. 9, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Hall. Outstanding vendors, silent auction, bake sale, White Elephant, door prizes, and $5 lunches. Renew your Community Club membership.
The Pender Harbour choir has two concerts of their Mid Winter Song tonight, Friday, Dec. 8 at the Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens and tomorrow night Dec. 9 at the School of Music. Tickets $25 at EarthFair, from Choir members and at the door.
Pender Harbour Music Society presents Sweet Scarlet’s Holiday Concert Sunday, Dec. 10, 2 p.m. at the School of Music. The Christmas a cappella performance by these six women is full of surprises and musical joyfulness. Tickets available on the society’s website.
At 3:30 p.m. the merriment begins at the Pender Harbour Community Christmas Dinner when Santa comes to visit with the children. Dinnertime 5:30 p.m. at the Hall.
It is beginning to look a lot like Christmas and exciting news in the harbour is that the Women’s Connection will be hosting a luncheon at the Painted Boat Resort. Kenneth Norman Johnson will be providing beautiful seasonal music. The Lagoon Restaurant chef will be preparing a scrumptious buffet that is sure to please all palates. With the busyness of the holiday season, it will be wonderful to enjoy a little break with good company, and delightful entertainment, along with a few surprises too. So have yourself a merry little Christmas by joining them Dec. 12 at noon. Tickets are $40 available by contacting Maureen at 604-883-0444. Don’t wait as the Women’s Connection events always sell out quickly.
The Polar Express Christmas Light Tour Dec. 12 departs at 7 p.m. Purchase your Golden Ticket, $5 at EarthFair Store. Keep an eye out for signs posted at past Champions’ displays. Harbourside Friendships, Thursday, Dec. 14 will host the Pender Harbour Choir and serve a Christmas Turkey Lunch. Tickets are $10 and must be purchased ahead of the event. Festivities begin at 10:30 a.m. at the Hall. Contact Marlene for more info at 604-883-9900.
At 4:30 p.m., the doors open at the Hall for Christmas Bingo! Games begin at 6:30 p.m. with a Potluck and gift raffle at intermission.
The Annual Madeira Park Legion Christmas fundraiser is Dec. 16 from 3 to 5 p.m. Ticket sales 1:30 to 3 p.m. Fifteen turkeys and 15 hams in the draw this year! This is a very popular and fun event so plan to arrive early to view the raffle, silent and live auction items. In addition, there will be a fantastic basket and pie auction. Find something for everyone on your Christmas list. All proceeds will go to the generator fund. The Legion must update the facility to help our community during any future emergencies including lengthy power outages and disasters. A priority is to purchase and install a generator. Applications for government funds/grants have been submitted. To reach the goal of $75,000, fundraising is under way. If you would like to donate to the generator fund, please: make your cheque to the Pender Harbour Community Improvement Fund and drop it off at the Legion. Tax receipts will be mailed out to donors. Note: any donations received in December can be claimed for 2023. Help the Legion help all of us.
The second annual Winterfest and 59th Pender Harbour Boat Parade Dec. 16 will transform Millenium Park into a Christmas wonderland, with Santa’s Workshop, the Pender Harbour Choir, vendors, food, and warm drinks for all ages. Boats set sail at 6:30 p.m. Suggested donation $10 per person, proceeds going to the PH Community Club, stewards of the Hall.
Dec. 13, 15 and 16, all Christmas stock at The Bargain Barn will be on sale, two or three for one. Everything must go! Last chance to shop is Dec.16 when the Barn closes for 2023.
Spreading Kindness Fundraiser assists local youth and families in need by supporting the Pender Harbour Community School Youth and Families Support Program. Funds are used to purchase essential supplies, food security support and to address the specific needs as well as traditional Christmas items.
