Remembrance Day ceremonies begin at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, Saturday, Nov. 11 with a solemn procession through Madeira Park to the Legion where services begin at 11 a.m.

Sunday, Nov. 19 the Pender Harbour Music Society welcomes the legendary Roy Forbes returning to the stage at the School of Music. Roy has been a fixture in Canadian music, the major record label phenom Bim, broadcaster, film score composer, indie recording artist, varied and valued collaborator and concert performer. Tuesday, Nov. 21 the Pender Harbour Wildlife Society is pleased to host a presentation by Julie McNeil of WildSafe BC. Julie is passionate about conservation and education and has participated in numerous outdoor training programs and conservation internships. She worked for the BC Conservation Foundation prior to her current position as WildSafeBC coordinator for the Sunshine Coast. Each year, the B.C. public makes more than 25,000 calls to the Conservation Officer Service to report wildlife for a variety of reasons. Some of these calls are regarding wildlife that are in conflict. Julie will discuss the WildSafeBC program and how it helps resolve and prevent human-wildlife conflict. She will focus on local wildlife and safety, the importance of attractant management and proper procedures, and ways that we can reduce negative human-wildlife interactions. All are welcome to attend the presentation at the Pender Harbour Secondary School in the food room. Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Presentation at 7 p.m. Refreshments and raffle.
