Welcome to November and another month of great events in the Harbour. One that will be a sellout is the Bargain Barn’s Annual Fashion Show, lunch and silent auction at the Legion Sunday, Nov. 26, brought to you by the Barn’s fantastic volunteers. Another hot ticket item will be when Roy Forbes returns to the stage at the School of Music Sunday, Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. Roy has been a fixture in Canadian music, an icon for 50 years. He has been a major record label phenom Bim, broadcaster, film score composer, highly respected indie recording artist, valued collaborator, and performer. Mark your calendars, the Pender Harbour Choir has kindly shared their concert series dates for the season, starting with Nov. 11, Remembrance Day, at the Legion singing two songs of remembrance at the service. Dec. 8, Christmas Concert at Sunshine Coast Botanical Garden 7 p.m.; Dec. 9, Christmas Concert at the School of Music, 2 p.m.; Dec. 14, Harbourside Friendship sing-along of Christmas Carols at the Hall, 11 a.m.; and Dec. 16, Winterfest, you will hear and see them “Carolling Around.”
Women’s Connection is gathering Nov. 14. Guest speaker Haida Bolton, programme coordinator of the Better at Home Service will discuss the ways this programme, financed by the Province of BC, is helping seniors remain independent in our community. Learn how this programme is working in Pender Harbour and how it could help you, your family and friends. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. at the School of Music. $4 drop in.
