Obituary: Sara Gay Bujan (nee Holman)

'Her fabulous dinner parties are talked about to this day. Such an amazing hostess, beautiful table settings, decorations and the best jelly trifle! Always such care and detail in every celebration you hosted - your passion shined through.'

In loving memory of Sara Gay Bujan (nee Holman)

July 22, 1940 - April 4, 2024

Our beautiful Mom has now found her peace in heaven. She was blessed to have her two beloved Michaels in her life and it brings us such comfort to know that they are surrounding her with their love once again. She is predeceased by our wonderful Dad, Michael Bujan, in 2005 and then by her loving companion, Michael Hill in 2021. So special to be reunited with her dear brother as well, Richard Holman, 2002.

Sara was a wonderful wife, partner, sister, aunt, mother and grandma. She was so proud and treasured her family, always taking such good care of us all. Mom was also a dear friend to so many and truly appreciated her longtime friends on the Sunshine Coast. She was born in Claygate, Surrey in South England but called Gibsons home for 60 memorable years. Her legacy at Gibsons Elementary School as a dedicated Kindergarten teacher lives on in the community after teaching generations of students. Mom made some of her dearest friends and fondest memories being apart of School District #46.

Her fabulous dinner parties are talked about to this day. Such an amazing hostess, beautiful table settings, decorations and the best jelly trifle! Always such care and detail in every celebration you hosted - your passion shined through.

It is our honor as her family and friends to keep her memory close to our hearts and continue her legacy of kindness, steady strength and unconditional care, love and support for each other. She was so brave in the last few years of her life and we are very grateful to those dear friends and caregivers who made it easier. She will be greatly missed by her daughter Claire (Steve), son Mark (Bianca) and her cherished grandchildren Taylor, Jacob, Emma, Gavin and Cloey. Mom had so much love for these five, always bringing her true joy.

We love you Mom and are so proud to be your children. You were a beautiful woman with such presence. Devout, courageous, determined, encouraging, never ending energy and always so giving. Later in life you often told us don't forget to stop and smell the roses. For you, we absolutely will. We are so grateful for how you raised us; you will forever remain a part of us all.

We will be having a private gathering at the house this summer to celebrate our Sara.
