Ruth passed away peacefully on April 17, 2025, at age 97, surrounded by her children at Lions Gate Hospital. Born in Ottawa, Ruth was one of nine siblings raised on the Bell Farm along the Ottawa River. She met her beloved husband, Harry, at a dance in Constance Bay, and together they built a joyful life in West Vancouver, raising six children.
Ruth was predeceased by Harry and their children Clive, Midge, and Shane. She is deeply missed by her children Tammy (John), Harry (Heidi), and Jade (Al); her grandchildren Ashley, Adam, Dylan, Jordie, Christian, Brooklynn, and Benjamin; and great-grandchildren Natalie, Patrick, Amelia, and Liam.
Known for her booming laugh, kind heart, and impeccable style, Ruth worked in fashion retail for many years and was a familiar face in Dundarave and Park Royal. Later in life, Ruth and Harry embraced their empty-nester years by relocating to Sechelt, B.C. - a place they both loved dearly.
