August 16, 1948 - February 5, 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Paul Gerard McKimm, born August 16th, 1948, in Bath, New Brunswick, to Daniel John McKimm and Catherine Anne Gallagher.
Paul passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 5th, at the age of 76, in Sechelt, BC.
Paul is survived by his son Scott (Ange); son Justin (Niki); stepson Brian (Stephanie); as well as his nine grandchildren, Matthew, Jaden, Victoria, Jannelle, Cordell, Rianne, Sierra, Faith, and Cole; and four great-grandchildren.
Paul achieved many things throughout his life - he was a father, grandfather, husband, miner, mechanic and entrepreneur, a longtime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, and the owner and Captain of the Pender Harbor SloCat boat tours between the years 2002 and 2012, just to name a few.
He was a dear friend to many and an integral member of his community in Sechelt, where he retired after selling his boat touring business in 2012. As per his last wishes, Paul was cremated at Devlin Funeral Home. He requested no funeral services be held. Knowing Paul, we surmise he did not want to be remembered in sadness.
Paul's sons plan to spread his ashes in Pender Harbor with his close friends and family present in the summer.
Paul's family extend their heartfelt appreciation to Paul's friends in the community of Sechelt for all the help and support through this difficult time. We also extend our thanks and great appreciation to the incredible staff at the Sechelt Hospital for all the care and support now and over the years. He will be deeply and forever missed.
