March 19, 1949 - October 31, 2022
With his family by his side, Jay passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with bone marrow cancer. Keeping his memory alive are his wife Janet, children Lindsay (Reilly) and Todd (Kaitlyn), grandchildren Blake and Quinn, brothers Peter, Paul and Brian, cousins, and best friend Pat.
Born in Toronto, Jay moved to Calgary and on to Vancouver where he met Jan. He spent many years working overseas in the oil industry before settling in Halfmoon Bay. From his time working at Howe Sound to playing and coaching hockey, to his retirement hobbies, he was a man who made friends easily. He loved heading south in his RV every winter where he and Jan developed friendships with other RV'ers. You could always find Jay chopping firewood, working on cars and small appliances or spending time with family - he always kept busy!
Jay certainly leaves a void in this world and will be greatly missed by his family and close friends. As Dad would say, "Go Leafs!".
At his request, there will not be a service. Donations can be made to Sechelt Hospital or to BC Cancer Foundation if desired.
