Born in Edmonton 1940, loving mother of eight, is survived by her seven children, and her many beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as her brother and sister.
Even though she faced many challenging life circumstances from early on, Iris strived to bring kindness and happiness wherever she went, always ready with a listening ear, warm hug and words of encouragement. She will be missed by many and remembered for her kind-heartedness, beautiful smile as well as her many card playing skills which usually ended with much laughter. She treasured every moment with her loved ones and continually looked for the good in others and in life. Iris had many interests through out her years painting being one of her favorites among many others. A large portion of her life was dedicated in volunteer work of teaching others the Bible promises that brought her much comfort. She faced her hardships with much resilience and continued smiling right up to the very end despite a painful battle with cancer, which ended on March 28th, 2023 at Shorncliffe Hospice.
Thanks to the many nurses who made every effort to bring her comfort through this time.
A memorial for Iris will be held at the local Sechelt Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Sunday, April 30th, 2023 at 2:30 pm.
