D’Arcy shared a beautiful 60-plus-year marriage with his beloved wife, Sharron, a partnership that exemplified love and devotion. They met on a blind date, arranged by his mother, and fell in love instantly and were married shortly after. Together, they raised two daughters, Susan, and Melissa (Mark), who carried forward his legacy of kindness and strength. His family expanded to include two cherished grandchildren, Kiara Wark (Justin), and D’Arcy Burk (Rebecca)  who brought immense joy to his years of life. He leaves behind his brothers, Richard and

D’arcy came to Gibsons to visit a friend and fell in love with our little town and decided to move his family up right away. D’Arcy and his girls moved to Gibsons in 1984 where he became a property tax admin for West Star Mining/BC Resources. He served the community for years as the Gibsons Chamber of Commerce President, the Sea Cavalcade Committee Chair, and the Gibsons Economic Strategy Committee. He was a Chief Judge of the Gibsons Court of Revision. D’Arcy served the community in many ways right up until his death. He loved our little town and worked hard over his long life to serve it.

Next time you are walking in Lower Gibsons be sure to look out for the Gibsons Time Capsule to be opened in 2048. Darcy was the leading force behind the capsule in 1998. We cannot wait for 2048 for it to be opened so we can share in his memory with the town he loved so much.

At his request, there will be no celebration of life. D’Arcy’s family welcomes all love and support.
