The Friday Farmers’ Market at the Gibsons Public Market building is extending its hours for summer. Residents can now come by to shop after work with the Farmers’ Market open from noon to 6 p.m.
“We’ve heard from many customers who would like to come to the market after their full day time schedule, so we’re making the change to 6 p.m. during the longer summer days,” said executive director Gerry Zipursky.
The Friday Farmers’ Market has continued to expand since its grand opening in May with as many as 40 vendors. With recent changes to British Columbia’s liquor regulations, Persephone Brewing is happy to be the newest market vendor bringing the local beer farmers into the market family.
Other products include locally grown organic fruits and vegetables, wild seafood, eggs, home baked goods and tasty treats.
Summer gardeners should know that extra garden produce is welcomed at the market’s consignment table. Market staff will sell product for you for a small percentage. Contact [email protected] or stop by the farmers’ market to discuss.
