The SPCA and Humane Societies National Cupcake Day party is at the Earthfair Bookstore in downtown Madeira Park tomorrow Saturday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and you are all invited.

There will be delicious cupcakes, muffins, creampuffs and charming trinkets for sale by donation and a raffle too. All proceeds will go towards helping animals abandoned, abused and in distress.

The Pender Harbour Community Club has something special planned for its annual general meeting this Monday, Feb. 24 - a potluck dinner. Everyone is invited at 6 p.m. at the hall. Please bring a dish to share. After the meal, enjoy guest speaker Dave Crosby from the Sunshine Coast Regional District, who will provide an update on a topic near and dear to us - the community water system.

Baking tips and tricks is the sweet topic for the Women's Connection gathering Tuesday, Feb. 25 when they welcome guest speaker Adrienne Fox of Truffles Cafe and Confectionary in Gibsons.

Fox will share her secrets for creating the cafe's delicious scones and pastries -and yes - there will be samples too. Join the gathering and bring your paper and pen to the School of Music at 10 a.m. in Madeira Park.

This Thursday, Feb. 28 Harbourside Friendships will be getting together for a good time starting with coffee and social at 10:30 a.m. at the PH Community Hall. Enjoy hot lunch served at noon for just $10. Contact Cathy for more details at 604-883-9760.

The PH paddling society is launching a new season of paddling in March.
