Hello Halfmoon Bay, and happy November! I hate to start off with an apology, but I’m sorry - If you’ve been looking for the Halfmoon Bay Happenings article in the past couple of papers and haven’t found it, it’s because I have been swamped with getting our home ready to put on the market and cleaning like a crazy person for showings (which isn’t easy when you have four kids who make a mess faster than I can clean). Yes, we’re moving. I’m not sure exactly when, but sometime in the near future, we’ll be moving over to the Island.
It’s bitter-sweet, for sure. On the one hand, I love our home, garden, neighbourhood, community, school and friends. On the other hand, I’m looking forward to new experiences and opportunities and seeing my husband daily. I’ve lived most of my life in Halfmoon Bay, cumulatively 27 years, so it won’t be easy to say goodbye, but I know this change is necessary for our family for many reasons.
My time as Halfmoon Bay Happenings columnist was short and sweet, but it’s time to pass the baton to someone eager and able to give this column and community the energy it deserves! Truthfully, I think I’ve subconsciously already started disconnecting from the community, probably so it’s easier to say goodbye.
That said, if YOU want to be the next voice of this community, please reach out! You can email me at [email protected]. OR if you want to buy a beautiful five-bedroom home + carriage house on a 1/3 acre property that functions as a mini homestead in the best location in Halfmoon Bay... contact your realtor! ;)
There are no “happenings” to report for the coming week, but I’d like to thank Wendy White for organizing the Pumpkin Trail and Haunted Frog Pond on Halloween. It makes trick-or-treating that much more special!
