Get your bunny ears on and your baskets out, Halfmoon Bay is having an Easter Egg Hunt! This event is hosted by the Halfmoon Bay Elementary School PAC with Easter treats generously donated by Heidelberg Materials Sechelt. Starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 19, meeting at the school entrance, participants will then move onto the school field. Join neighbours and friends for a fun filled morning of egg hunting and community spirit –– all welcome.
TuBird Restaurant at the Rockwater has also released a special Easter Sunday menu starting with a buffet brunch that includes fresh baked goods, eggs Benedict, honey-baked ham, a dessert station and much more. There are vegetarian and gluten free options as well. Their multi course Easter dinner menu is served family style with something to please everyone at the table. Reservations required, [email protected] or call 604-741-6113.
The Saturday Jam is still on at Coopers Green Hall from 7 to 9 p.m. Organizer Tracy Wandling says that they have use of the space until the end of April and she is hoping for a push in participation to keep it going. Consider this a call out to all local musicians, at any level of skill, to come make music with your neighbours. Bring your instruments, your clapping hands, your tapping toes or your dancing shoes! Admission is free but donations are always welcome to offset rental costs.
We are only a few weeks away from the Halfmoon Bay Elementary’s annual carnival event on May 2, from 5 to 7:30 p.m. We are hoping to see everyone lean into the Western theme this year! Our very own Halfmoon Bay Fire Department will be on site manning the grills. There will be games, prizes, a silent auction, 50/50 draw, bouncy castles, facepainting and e.b.’s Ice cream for your sweet tooth. There will be a raffle for a $1,000 cash prize which will be drawn the night of the carnival. This event is an important fundraiser hosted by the Halfmoon Bay Elementary School PAC. Funds raised will be used to provide funding and resources for students at Halfmoon Bay Elementary. There are still opportunities to pitch in and help if you can volunteer your time. These events rely heavily on volunteer efforts and if you are able you can sign up online at the following link: volunteersignup.org/WT4K4.
