Also tonight, Friday, enjoy Friday night dinner at the Legion from 4:30 to 8 p.m. and music starting at 6 p.m. with Michelle Morand, who has recently made the Coast her full-time home. She brings more than 25 years of musical experience, sultry vocals and intricate rhythmic guitar melodies to a great collection of favourite songs from the 60's through today.
Don't forget to come to the Roberts Creek Library's first Saturday of the month book sale this Saturday, Feb. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Regular library hours during the week are 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, 2 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. In case you forgot, you may bring library books back to the General Store if the library isn't open.
This Saturday at the Legion enjoy Mindl Beach Markets for their hometown show.
Admission is $15 for guests with members.
The Legion should be packed, so why not come early for dinner from 4:30 to 8 p.m. and then enjoy the show, which starts at 9 p.m.
Be sure to catch the show at Gumboot Garden Restaurant, which shows through the end of March.
The Friday Muses is not just any painting group - it is a women's collective of four artists - Carol LaFave, Bronwen Boddington, Bobbie Mauel and Dawn Thomson. For 10 years these four friends have gathered together to create art, enjoy great food and celebrate life. The work gathered in this show is a representation of the talents of this diverse group and includes collage, acrylics and photography. Additional pieces of work will be added to the show during the month of February to celebrate Valentines Day.
Jane Davidson's family is hosting a 90th birthday party for her at Cascadia Centre, 1249 Roberts Creek Road on Saturday, Feb. 8 from 1 to 4 p.m. Davidson has been a member of the Roberts Creek community for more than 25 years. She has been active in the Reading Centre, Weavers' Guild, St. Bart's Church, volunteer drivers and numerous bridge clubs. All friends are welcome.
Also on Feb. 8 is the annual Bob Marley birthday bash at the Legion.
There will be live music by the Hoolicans, Randeesh and special guests followed by DJ Nils. Doors are open at 8 p.m. Admission is $5 for members and $10 for guests with members.
