Davis Bay Farmers Market is holding its grand opening April 26.

The Davis Bay Farmers Market will be celebrating its grand opening at the Davis Bay Community Hall, Saturday, April 26, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The market is located two blocks up from the beach at 5123 Davis Bay Road.

What will you find at the market? Seasonal, farm fresh produce, jams, jellies, relishes, herbal goods, bread, baking, eggs, seeds, plants, coffee, snacks, tea, a delicious lunch, a variety of artisanal creations and our unique community table. You can be sure that everything is made, baked or grown, on the Sunshine Coast. You may also find your neighbour, advice for growing tomatoes, a library book, and a spot to sit and watch the kids play on the grass and at the playground.

Davis Bay Farmers Market is volunteer-run, and a project of the non-profit SC Ecological Farmers Market Society. We are grateful for all the community support we receive; many thanks to the Sunshine Coast Credit Union, the BC Farmers Market Association, and SCREDO, for financial support for infrastructure. We appreciate the Davis Bay/Wilson Creek Community Association, who host us and care for the accessible hall and beautiful grounds. We thank the shíshálh Nation, and acknowledge that we gather on their traditional territory.

This year, we will also be continuing the “Hatch ‘n Hype” program that supports new vendors with free tent space and promo, and the popular nutrition coupon program. The market will run until the last Saturday of October.
