The Sunshine Coast Clean Air Society (SCCAS) will conduct its annual general meeting this Sunday, May 5 at 1 p.m. at the Stalashen Clubhouse (1585 Field Road in Wilson Creek).
Reports on programs and initiatives are on the agenda.
Currently the SCCAS implements the woodstove exchange program, with the support of the BC Lung Association and the Province of British Columbia, to provide a financial incentive for owners of inefficient, older wood stoves to replace them with modern, clean-burning models.
The SCCAS has also worked with the District of Sechelt in their adoption of a development/construction burning ban bylaw (#486, 2012) to be in effect Jan. 1, 2014. See our latest news on this and other SCCAS activities at www.cleanaironthecoast.com.
The SCCAS welcomes your involvement, either on the board of directors or as a volunteer and invite you to bring forward ideas that could lead to solid progress on air quality improvement for the Sunshine Coast and beyond.
