On Sunday there were winners who had not even been born when the Sunshine Coast Drag Racing Association (SCDRA) had its first race in August 1999. There were also drag racers who raced in 1999 and were back again for more. Some teenagers earned their racing certificates, and two girls contested the Teen Championship Racing category.
With a variety of food trucks, the Be Prepared first aid van, Walt’s Towing, and a demonstration fundraiser by the Boudoir Rouge burlesque dancers, people still found time to cheer a woman visiting from the Interior, who celebrated a substantial 50/50 win.
Oh, and there was a full day of hard and skilful pedal-to-the-floor drag racing.
