The Children’s Festival and Duck Pluck will be held on July 5 at Dougall Park in Gibsons from 10:30 to 3 p.m.
Bring a blanket, stay for the day and take in some great activities — hay bale towers, face painting, arts and crafts, pony rides, a petting zoo, bouncy castle and photo booth — as well as a wonderful mix of children’s performers. You can also enjoy some delicious lunch choices, tasty baked goodies and refreshments.
The main stage features Graham Walker and the Barn Cats, Steve Weave and the Circuit Bored Band, Matt Diamond, who often performs with his mom Charlotte Diamond, and Wonders of the Matt Hatter, magical comedy with Gerardo Avila and the amazing Jean-Pierre Makosso.
The fun tent features Tammy Hansen sharing stories, Jill Conway as Truly Wigglebottoms Clown and Miss Joyful the Puppeteer.
Throughout the park, there will be roving stilt-walkers Pan Willson and Cody Chancellor.
Entry cost is by donation. Remember to purchase one of the famous Duck Pluck raffle tickets for a chance to win some great prizes including a Rock Water Secret Cove Resort package. Proceeds from the festival go to Sunshine Coast Community Services’ Child Development Programs including Parent-Tot Drop-In and Bellies and Babies prenatal nutrition program.
