Sechelt Remembrance Day 2021

The Sechelt Legion will mark Remembrance Day for the 50th and last time from its Wharf Avenue location, as we will soon move to our new building on Inlet Avenue.

Last Friday was the start of the annual Poppy Campaign, and our volunteers are out in force to receive your donations in exchange for poppies.

All funds received must be used strictly in support of veterans and their families.

Absolutely none of these funds can be used for branch operating expenses.

Last year, your generosity generated over $30,000. In turn, the Sechelt Legion donated more than $30,000 to train post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) service dogs, to veterans transition training through BCIT, to eight bursary recipients in our catchment area, and to Honour Ranch in B.C.

We will also be donating to the Hospital Auxiliary loan cupboard and Meals on Wheels in support of veterans who use these services.

And of course, we have continued to support veterans in direct need of assistance.

With your donations this year we will once again have a strong Poppy Campaign and our legacy of assisting veterans will be assured.
