Motorcyclist dead after single-vehicle crash in Pitt Meadows

Ridge-Meadows RCMP continue to investigate a motorcycle crash July 10 that killed a 70-year-old Langley man.

A 70-year-old Langley man is dead after allegedly losing control of his motorcycle while riding along Golden Ears Way. and colliding into a centre median. 

Ridge Meadows RCMP and paramedics responded to Golden Ears Way near Lougheed Highway in Pitt Meadows at 6:40 p.m. Wednesday. 

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene at 7 p.m. after colliding with a centre median, police said.

Insp. Adam Gander said in a news release that there is an active and ongoing investigation into the accident.

According to police, initial reports and eyewitness accounts indicate that the motorcyclist was travelling northbound on Golden Ears Way.

He was approaching the overpass above Lougheed Highway before losing control, and collided with the centre median.

Police said the man was ejected from his motorcycle.
