Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of September 15!
- A tearful goodbye to the wonderful volunteers and staff at the Sechelt Seniors Activity Centre. Especially to the “Thursday Bunch.” Thank you for sharing stories and laughs. I’ll miss you. MM
- Kisses to the tow truck driver from Day & Night Towing who went out his way on a Thursday night to unlock my truck. I had locked my keys in the truck and had no way to get into the house. My dog and I really, really appreciated your kindness.
- Bountiful kisses to the Paradise Valley Produce folks and their loyal team who were unable to board the early ferry from Powell River because of ferry staffing problems. They had to unload their wonderful veggies even faster than usual when they arrived in Sechelt. You and your produce are so appreciated!
- Kisses to all the restaurants that do not allow dogs on their premises, including outside. I am very allergic and a shaking, shedding dog would definitely interfere with my dining enjoyment and of course, my health.
- Kisses to the young person who returned my beach bag, lost at Davis Bay with no ID but a library book in it, to the Sechelt Library. Thank you!
- Kisses to the councillor in Sechelt who is holding the line for affordable housing as opposed to housing that will be be purchased by speculators.
- Kicks to groups of people who are harvesting oysters without either licences or regard for the daily limit allowance on their licence. At our beach, two buckets of 106 oysters were left at the top of the beach access path and were never picked up.
- Kisses to the lovely staff at Painted Lady Art supplies for staying open past closing time so I could purchase “emergency” watercolour paper for a very creative teenager on a painting binge.
- Kicks to the users of the Coopers Green boat launch who don’t observe the queue system and feel they are entitled to budge in front of waiting vehicles.
- Toe tapping kisses to High Beam Dreams for another superb live music concert. Pierre Schryer, Adam Dobres, and Danielle Enblom, you are entertainment stars!
