Kisses and Kicks: Kisses for SAR, kicks for flyer dumping in letter boxes

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of December 1!

  • A forest full of kisses to all the incredible people at our Sunshine Coast Search & Rescue team. Your dedication to the safety of our community is truly appreciated. Thank you!
  • Kisses to the employees at Telus for answering all questions politely with a straight face regardless of how dumb the question is. From a non-techy person.
  • A huge bucket full of kisses to the Sunshine Coast Lions club and Greenecourt for their generous donations to the RainCity shelter.
  • Kicks to the man who almost pushed my dog and me off the Davis Bay boardwalk Nov. 12. Shame on you for trying to bully and intimidate a woman walking responsibly with her dog.
  • Kisses and best wishes to Constable K. Sears for her kindness, professionalism, and generous service on the Coast. Salute.
  • Arms full of hugs and kisses to Chris O’Connor and Graham Williams for bringing their musical talents to 2-South and sharing them with the patients and staff at the Sechelt Hospital!
  • Kisses to Sara Douglas and the Suncoast Phoenix Community Choir for their brilliant performance of Mozart’s Requiem. It was a beautiful tribute to our service men and women on Remembrance Day.
  • Kisses to our wonderful community for supporting the SCHA Hopkins Fall Bazaar & Marketplace fundraiser Nov. 4.  All funds raised go directly to enhance the quality of healthcare on the Coast.
  • Kisses to Sean and the wonderful staff at Welcome Woods Market in Halfmoon Bay. Thanks for helping us with our hot lunch program, we couldn’t do it without you! From all of us at Halfmoon Bay Community School.
  • Kisses to the friendly and helpful staff at the Sechelt Library. You make our library a gem.
  • Kicks to the people who dispose of flyers and other unwanted mail by putting it into the letter box at the box stands. It gets mixed up with the letter mail and slows down the sorting for the mail carriers.
  • Kisses to the Sechelt Hospital staff. First rate care from pre to post op. Thank you all who helped in my care Oct. 27.
  • Thanks to Talewind Books for their timeless “works of art” and tireless work ethic. You are appreciated!

Email your Kisses and Kicks to [email protected]. The deadline for submissions is 1 p.m. every Tuesday for a given week.

Coast Reporter will run kisses and kicks entries as space permits on a first-received, first-published basis.

Submissions must be accompanied by a name and phone number for confirmation by the editor. Names will not be printed in the column unless requested by the writer, for kisses only.

A kick is intended to be an anonymous critique between private parties and may in no way publicly identify an individual, group or business directly or indirectly.

Submissions must be no longer than 30 words. If your thanks or critique is longer, consider an ad in our classified section. The editor reserves the right to edit or refuse to run any submission.
