Kisses and Kicks: Kisses for Red Serge Gala, kicks to the uninformed

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of October 4!

  • Kisses to everyone who helped put on the amazing Red Serge Gala, especially K and all the local RCMP/firefighters/volunteers who made it incredible for us to attend and CoastalRides for getting us all home from a wonderful night.
  • A grateful kiss to Courtney of Talewind Books, who specially came into work an hour early on Sept. 5, so that I could pick up the Sunshine Coast Trail Guide, before heading off on a four-day backpacking trip. So kind!
  • To Chuck on the 5:30 to Langdale ferry who not only noticed my flat tire but also filled it with his onboard compressor. Thanks Jamie and Jamie.
  • Kisses and gratitude to Monica, who generously took time out of her busy schedule to give me a ride to the Langdale Ferry Terminal on Thursday, Sept. 26.  Much appreciated! Thank you again for your help and kindness.
  • Kicks to the person who did not return the bag of produce to the Gibsons IGA.
  • Kisses to Gibsons Seniors Society at Harmony Hall for their free meals for seniors every Saturday at noon. Great food and always great entertainment.  Just getting out and having a tasty hot meal and meeting new people has been so very important to me as I have been a bit lonely and housebound. I am now smiling, dozens of kisses to the organizers.
  • Kisses and thank you to Heidelberg Materials for our very enjoyable morning. The tour bus ride, the delicious food and your warm hospitality was very much appreciated. The rain held off for us too.
  • A whole lot of kicks to those lazy folks that leave the pristine coastal trails littered with dog poo bags and tampons, disgusting!
  • Kisses to the nice truck driver on the forest service road. Thanks for letting me go ahead on my bike to save me breathing in all the dust! So thoughtful.
  • Kisses to Scotty, Faye and The Hook for putting on a unique and entertaining Live Rock and Roll Bingo Event at the Gibsons Legion.
  • A sweet kiss to both gentlemen in pickup trucks, who stopped to ask if I needed help or gas as I was stuck on the beginning of the hill going up School Road  (in the dark), with my flashers on. My good next door neighbour was on her way with a Jerry can. It was wonderful to feel safe in a community where people always care.
  • Kicks to the apathetic and/or blissfully uninformed. If you value freedom of speech, freedom of choice and freedom from a bloated bureaucracy, you still have the freedom to vote.
