Kisses and Kicks: Kisses for a Starbucks 'pay it forward', kicks to lawn poisoners

Here are the good deeds (and not so good deeds) that happened in our Coast community this week!
Kisses & Kicks
Kisses & Kicks

Here are your kicks and kisses for the week of May 5!

  • Kisses to Cathy and Andrea who collectively saved me enormous stress by facilitating a ride to Lion’s Gate Hospital on the first ferry for knee surgery. Your kind, generous deed was and remains inspiring and heartening. I’ll pay it forward with gratitude!
  • Kisses to the person I met at Salt Lake City airport after my flight was cancelled and who helped me to deal with Delta Airlines and to navigate Lyft to get a ride to the hotel. I only found out later that we both live on the Sunshine Coast!
  • Kicks to whoever has directed the garbagemen to dump the green bins with the garbage! I keep seeing them dump the greens in with the garbage in Halfmoon Bay. Shame!
  • Kisses to the driver of the Mazda at the front of the Starbucks drive thru –  started at least a five car “pay it forward” for other coffee drinkers. Made my day! And the barista at the window said “you guys are making my heart happy!” Love these small acts of kindness.
  • Kisses to Rikki and Brendan for arriving so promptly with the ambulance. They are so professional yet comforting. We must never take our paramedics for granted.
  • Many kisses to Pat, who paid for my groceries at SV. Your gift has been passed on to the Sally Ann.
  • Kicks to the thief who stole the vintage hand-tooled Mexican purses from the thrift store.
  • Kicks to the people who still poison their lawns and gardens and to the stores that sell them poisons. Poisoning your lot affects us all, endangering our ecosystem.
  • Kisses to the gentleman at Anchor Hearing in Wilson Creek, who promptly assisted in getting a man with dementia a new charging port for hearing aids. He also offered a free cleaning.
  • Kisses and a big high five to the two police officers that helped me with a broken car key while at the pool. They had it usable in a few minutes! Many thanks from a not very mechanical senior female!
  • Kisses and big thanks to all volunteers and those involved with Dreams Come True. Eight lucky grads were outfitted in luxurious prom dresses for free so they can feel fabulous! We want to thank Chatelech Secondary for supporting the event and offering a warm inviting venue.

A kick is intended to be an anonymous critique between private parties and may in no way publicly identify an individual, group or business directly or indirectly.

Submissions must be no longer than 30 words. If your thanks or critique is longer, consider an ad in our classified section. The editor reserves the right to edit or refuse to run any submission.
