Luke Faulks, Local Journalism Initiative Reporter

Luke Faulks is a Local Journalism Initiative reporter with Pique Newsmagazine. He was a lifelong lower mainlander before moving to Pemberton in 2024. Now, he’s excited to get to know Pemby, Lil’wat Nation, and the rest of the Squamish-Lillooet region!
Luke holds a master’s degree in journalism from the University of British Columbia. His work has appeared in Canadian Geographic, Explore Magazine, and CBC Radio, often covering municipal and environmental issues.
When he’s not reporting, you can find Luke running around Pemberton, hiking local mountains, kayaking on only the calmest waters around, and repeatedly falling over on his skis.
