There is rain in Weatherhood’s forecast for Sechelt, with 22 millimetres (mm) anticipated to fall starting in the morning hours of Friday Sept. 4 and continuing until the evening.
Looking at last month’s weather summary, Sept. 2024 saw 50.4 mm of rain recorded by Environment Canada’s automated weather station located at Sechelt airport. Most of that rain, 21.4 mm fell on Sept.25. The highest temperature recorded during last month at that location was 30.4 degrees on Sept.5 and the lowest the mercury dipped was 4.6 degrees, which was reached on the final day of the month.
Sechelt's most recent monthly rainfall compares to 41.3 mm of precipitation that fell during September of last year, and 4.2 mm that fell during the ninth month of 2022.
But this year’s September rainfall paled in comparison to what was experienced in 2021. That month saw a over 152 mm fall from the sky over that month with 42 mm received on Sept. 17 of that year alone.
