Rain is expected to continue, off and on throughout the weekend and up to Tuesday of next week.

Not-quite ready for harvest, blue plums growing in Pender Harbour bask in the morning sun.

Neither Weatherhood nor Environment Canada have lighting strikes, like those experienced overnight between Aug. 21 and 22 in the forecast for the remainder of today on B.C.'s lower Sunshine Coast.

Rain is expected to continue, off and on throughout the weekend and up to Tuesday of next week.

Those growing tree fruits in our area are reminded that ripening and fallen fruit can be an attractant for wild bears. If you cannot make use of your fruit or need help with harvesting it, there are groups on Facebook that can connect you with others that can assist. For more information on keeping your property and our area safe for the bear population, visit the Sunshine Coast Bear Alliance's webpage
