Vandalizm is disturbing

Editor: On behalf of the directors and members of the West Sechelt Community Association, I write to express our disgust with an act of vandalism that saw the flag pole on the lawn of one of our neighbours destroyed.

On behalf of the directors and members of the West Sechelt Community Association, I write to express our disgust with an act of vandalism that saw the flag pole on the lawn of one of our neighbours destroyed.

As is customary, our neighbour's flag was at half mast in honour of the recent Canadian dead in Afghanistan - a situation which makes the vandals' act all the more heinous.

We are concerned about the increasing number of acts of vandalism in West Sechelt, for example, garden statues being stolen and graffiti scrawled on walls and other objects. Our association is dedicated to preserving and enhancing West Sechelt residents' lives and environment, and we call upon all residents to aid us in our endeavours.
