I am concerned about the intersection of Reed and North roads in Gibsons. It is truly a dangerous route where people have been injured in crashes, and just last year there was a fatality. It is extremely busy on North Road when ferry traffic is going, and in summer it is much worse. You have to consult the ferry schedule to determine the best times to travel.
Many years ago the highways department came up with a route that would bypass Highway 101, but like much planning, it went nowhere. Highway 101 is also a death road, and there have been many fatalities on it. My granddaughter was one of them.
With provincial finances the way they are now, it seems unlikely it will come to fruition any time soon, but traffic signals would ease North / Reed intersection traffic immensely. I would request the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure proceed with that as soon as possible.
