Tips for transit, ferries

The following letter was sent to MLA Nicholas Simons and copied to Coast Reporter. Mr. Simons: I would be very grateful if you could bring up a couple of questions/issues that I have next time you meet with the transportation minister.

Mr. Simons:

When coming off the Langdale ferry into Horseshoe Bay, as a foot passenger, if I want to purchase a Translink day pass for the bus, the only place I can buy one is from the general store along Bay Road in Horseshoe Bay. As a senior, it takes me 10 to 15 minutes to walk around there and back, and by the time I get back the bus has already left. This store has limited opening times and is often not open for the 6:20 a.m. commuters.

I would like to suggest that the Translink day passes are more easily accessible to travellers by having them available at the ferry terminal, on the bus, or at the Dollar Store in Horseshoe Bay.

When the Olympics are on (and possibly beyond that) can we have a bus service from Horseshoe Bay up to Squamish/Whistler? I am sure that it will be very well used and much appreciated.
