I am writing to say thank you to the doctors, nurses, technicians and aides of St. Mary's Hospital.
I recently had to spend five hours in the hospital undergoing a number of medical tests. I am grateful for the kindness and courtesy I received as well as the professionalism; many older people are well aware of their handicaps, the 'slowness of old age'. These issues were well managed despite the busy emergency activities.
I was glad to see a large number of students working at the hospital; I met them in every department such as the X-ray department having at least three. As we so dearly need more young people to go into the healthcare field, St. Mary's is obviously encouraging and launching some of those. (Almost all being girls I should add). Someone should to tell the boys they can make excellent nurses as well as doctors and technicians.
I feel that we are extremely lucky to live in Sechelt and have a hospital, but it is the staff that make the difference, when one is undergoing stressful tests. So again thank you all, you are much appreciated by many people on the Sunshine Coast.
