A friend of mine was over the other day and parked on the road at the top of my driveway. We went for an hour and a half walk, and when we arrived back, the bylaw officer had ticketed her vehicle.
There has been a car with a for sale sign parked half on the sidewalk and half on the road one block west of my home for the past three months - yet, no tickets. There is a residence one block east of my home that entertains on a regular basis with vehicles parked on both side of the street - yet, no tickets.
I was walking on Gale Avenue and there were several vehicles parked on the road as well as a boat and trailer, not attached to a vehicle, and the bylaw officer drove by while I was walking - no tickets.
I pay thousands of dollars a year in taxes like everyone else to put my one can of garbage out on Tuesdays. Can I not be afforded the same courtesy as my neighbours and have the occasional friend or family member park in the front of my home on the street?
I am leaving my home come the end of October and this is not the first time that I have been singled out. Do you have to be born and raised on the Coast to escape being victimized? Last time I looked there weren't any no parking signs on Gale Avenue.
