The following letter was sent to Premier Gordon Campbell, MP John Weston and MLA Nicholas Simons and copied to Coast Reporter for publication.
I recently worked with a group raising money to facilitate blood cancer research and to help the family of a six-year-old leukemia victim.
As a result of your recently introduced harmonized sales tax regulations, the costs for this event were increased by $644.10.
In effect, you took $644.10 from a six-year-old leukemia victim and spent it on an improved racetrack for the "older" children travelling to and from Whistler. Shame on you!
