In your article ("Slate set for byelection," Coast Reporter, Nov. 20), Gibsons council candidate Gerry Tretick stated, "The mayor indicated he wanted people with experience and interest in the town." Actually I have neither "indicated" nor said any such thing.
What I did request at the Nov. 3 council meeting (that Mr. Tretick did not attend) were certain qualities in a candidate, in addition to knowledge of the current issues. They are quoted here directly from the minutes: "The attributes I am looking for are honesty, integrity, fairness, compassion, maybe a cupful of passion as well and empathy "
There is a real difference.
