This is an open letter to all those people who enjoy our local three-day Sea Cavalcade.
Have you ever found yourself partaking in the wonderful events that start off with a bang of explosive color; and to finish with one of the committee members at the closing ceremonies thanking all ofus as a community for attending? Do you find yourself saying, "next year I want to volunteer some time to helpmake this happen for our community and surrounding communities." Or even really knowing that you could help with an event; such as taking part in the opening night ceremonies, or even marshalling the parade, logger sports or Keats Swim, fireworks, street dance, family activities and entertainment. Again you find yourself saying, "yeah, next year I would really enjoy volunteering some of my time to make this a success."
I know personally I found myself saying that over in my head for 18 years. Finally I contacted the right person; and she informed of the next meeting. After attending that meeting for the Sea Cavalcade committee, I knew that I had made a good decision.
