Three important reasons to vote for the Single Transferable Vote (BC-STV) are as follows.
First, the B.C. government vacillates between two parties, the NDP and the Liberals with resultant extreme changes in policy. The STV would force more moderate, and therefore more stable policies on both sides.
Second, whenever the government changes, the top civil servants are usually replaced, triggering severence packages which cost us, the taxpayers, millions of dollars.
Third, the STV would be on a trial basis only, for three terms, to test its effectiveness. We can always vote again togo back to the archaic first past the post system.
