Dear Mr. Lewis:

I am writing you concerning the planned halfway house for Pratt Road in Gibsons. As our elected representative for Area E in Elphinstone, this comes under your responsibility.

My concerns are mainly safety and increased criminal activities. My husband and I use Pratt Road often to walk to Gibsons. We pass our friends, neighbours and many school-aged children. We have always felt secure in the knowledge that the only things we had to watch out for were possibly bears.

The possibility of having a halfway house on Pratt is not in the best interests of the residents. The news is full of crimes and act of crimes that originate from halfway houses. Do you wish to be responsible for such activities in our area?

I implore you to stop this planning now and preserve our rural neighbourhood to ensure the safety and well being of your constituents.
