After returning to New Brighton from a nice hike up to Gambier Lake I noticed the phone booth at the head of the wharf and decided to call and let my husband know which ferry I was on.
Surprise! No coin slots. Hmmm. I know – I’ll make a collect call. Which was denied by the recipient. Weird. When I got home my husband told me they wanted $15! For a call from Gambier to Gibsons!
Absolutely ridiculous. No wonder there was no coin slot.
