I, too, would like to congratulate the grad class' everywhere, but was thoroughly disgusted with the letter written by Brett Wildeman (Coast Reporter, June 19) about his comment on religion being left out of the Grad ceremonies.
I had to read it twice to get the crux of the letter, which was difficult to read such ignorance. I feel that although' the remainder of the grad ceremonies was great, the part pertaining to God was also of utmost importance. It was definitely justifiable and if you couldn't stand to listen to the word of God, cover your ears. Like you said, this is Canada. The school system should think of incorporating some religious practice in starting their day. Can't you see what is happening in our part of the world as well as other parts of the world where all the injustices such as murders, robberies, people getting beaten up, home invasion, etc. etc. that religion should be in more of our lives? I have much respect for all religions. God called by any other name is still God, so please organizers of future graduations, banquets, or other major ceremonies, don't forget to add religion as part of it. There are many things to be thankful for and there is definitely some Supreme Being by whatever name to thank for this.
