More about greed than need

Dear Mayor and Councillors: It is with great disgust and disappointment that I write this letter. I would be letting my ancestors down if I sat back and said nothing.

Dear Mayor and Councillors:

It is with great disgust and disappointment that I write this letter. I would be letting my ancestors down if I sat back and said nothing.

Camp Olave has been part of my life for 56 years, even though I have never been there. Our ancestral property is three properties east of Camp Olave. For four generations we have enjoyed the Brownies and Guides walking the beach, and old Beach Ave. Road, which use to cut through the property.

Leaders would point out the different plant life and animals, as they went by on their nature walks. Teaching life skills and common sense are valuable commodities in this day and age. Why would we want our young people learning great life lessons, when you people can show them first hand, how the need for greed and lust for money by politicians far exceeds their needs? Why would we want our kids and grand kids being responsible people with high moral fibre and possibly carrying out random acts of kindness for the good of all humanity?

Perhaps you're hope is they can't pay the taxes so that lovely long beach can be divided into new water front homes that can be taxed at $10,000 a home? A much better solution than life lessons, right? While you're at it, why not rip up soccer fields and other team sports that teach life lessons too? There's probably money in the real estate for more taxes. I abhore your narrow mindedness; after all, it's all about the money. We need not wonder why the world is in the sorry state it's in; we worry more about greed than need.
