Letters: Sunshine Coast youth invited to share projects

'Wouldn’t it be great if there was a place in our community where those projects could be enjoyed by more people? The answer was simple - the mall!'

Editor:

Each year, our Sunshine Coast youth are creating interesting projects in their classrooms and at home, sharing what they’ve learned with their teachers, friends and family. When I attended my daughter’s school science fair, it was such an amazing event! The kids were all so proud to show off their projects, with smiles and confidence beaming from the school all day. However, at the end of the day all the projects just went home, only to be seen by a few others.

Wouldn’t it be great if there was a place in our community where those projects could be enjoyed by more people? The answer was simple - the mall!

Please join us at the first ever Sunshine Coast Youth Project Fair, hosted at Sunnycrest Mall in Gibsons!

Coast youth (ages eight to 17) are invited to bring their projects to the mall, to be put on display for one week (Friday, May 2 to Friday, May 9). Kids have the chance to do a live presentation of their work on Saturday, May 3, and our wonderful local community will get to vote on their favourite projects, with prizes for the best in each category!

Parents and teachers, thank you for encouraging your kids to prepare a project in coming weeks, and bring it down to the mall to join this exciting event!

Thank you for supporting young minds on the Sunshine Coast!

Best,
