The rains have arrived but there is more to do to reduce the risk of another Stage 4 season.
The SCRD needs to know with 100 per cent certainty that all toilets connected to the SCRD water system are dual flush toilets
Also, that all faucets in public and commercial common washrooms have motion activated or similar time limiting faucets installed.
In addition, steps need to be taken to permanently remove bulk water users from the domestic water system. That said, bulk water users have built their business plans on the availability of water and therefore should have significant financial help, from the SCRD, being us the domestic water users, to find and secure independent water supplies for these enterprises be the commercial, industrial or agricultural.
