Editor:
Readers need look no farther than our own Coast to satisfy their literary fix. Two local authors I’ve recently read have made me sit up and see the world in a brand-new way. David Roche’s memoir, Standing at the Backdoor of Happiness, and Sheila Weaver’s haiku collection, The Taste of a Raindrop — don’t just stand there is my advice — run out and read these courageous, humorous, delicate, and insightful books. Then, wonder why it’s taken you so long to appreciate the world-class writers living among us.
