If the council is going to use our tax money to sue big oil, they should consider fining the people that waste it. Every day I walk through town and along the boulevard and every day I see people sitting in their cars with the engine running while they talk or play on their phones – in the summer for the air conditioning , in the winter for the heat.
Sechelt does have signs up stating it’s a “No Idling Zone,” but no one polices it. These people do not care, they are entitled to sit in their private phone booth and waste fuel, all while the engine keeps warming the planet up a bit more. The council could use this money instead of our tax dollars.
