I would like to provide thanks for the exemplary support from BC Ferries staff at Langdale during a family’s medical crisis. A 70+ aged male resident was rushed to Sechelt Hospital where staff had to stabilize him before the medivac flight to Lions Gate Hospital.
His three adult children were on the ferry heading to Langdale when they realized that they needed to go back to Lions Gate. They needed to connect with their mom who was also trying to get to the hospital from Sechelt.
BCF staff facilitated turning the two vehicles on the ferry to go back to the city, allowed a friend who was driving the Mom to the ferry to drive right up to the ramp area so that the lady could get on the ferry and meet up with her kids. The family members were able to connect and be at Lions Gate Hospital when the medivac arrived. The stress being experienced by the family during this medical crisis was lessened by the kind and caring support of BCF staff. The family are all deeply grateful.
